At the beginning of the civil rights movement, in Jackson, Mississippi, three singular women bond together to share the stories of dozens of the city`s black servants, who have remained voiceless for too long.Naive Skeeter is just home from college, with big dreams of becoming a journalist, though her mother just wants her to find a husband. Aibileen, a black maid and the foundation of her household, is working hard to raise her seventeenth white child.Minnie is Aibileen's best friend and the city's best cook, but is unable to find a job because of her inclination to boldly speak her mind.
